Joy Puckett brings 30 years in healthcare and management experience to the Central EMS team. Puckett interfaces with Central EMS contracted hospitals and facilities, overseeing customer service, business development, billing procedures and transport agreements. Puckett provides specialized attention to hospitals arranging the long distant transport of critical care patients and including insurance and communication with their families. She has been a part of the Central EMS family for more than 15 years.
Puckett began her career with the original Metro Ambulance Service as an Emergency Medical Technician. Over 11 years of services, she advanced to a paramedic and was promoted to Communications Director. As Communications Director, she oversaw utilization review, quality management and response compliance for both Cobb County 911, Fulton County and other areas served.
She also served as the Medical Administrator for Medcor Corporation contracted onsite at Six Flags over Georgia. She managed a team of 30 EMS professionals providing healthcare treatment to employees of Six Flags and the attending visitors of the park. Her duties included negotiating healthcare cost with the surrounding hospitals, physician’s office’s, and urgent care centers; keeping open lines of communication and documentation for all patients referred for further evaluations, treatment, including workers compensation claims; and administrative functions, including ambulance licensure, treatment protocols, compliance, medical supplies, equipment, annual state inspections, OSHA compliance reporting and quality assurance.
Puckett is involved in the communities that Central EMS services and is member of the Forsyth Chamber of Commerce and other various committees.
